OXDOT AI Manager | Secure AI-Assisted Website Content Management

OXDOT AI Manager is an internal content-management integration built for the OXDOT agency website. It extends an existing PHP/MySQL admin dashboard with API endpoints and an MCP connection for an AI assistant. Editors can review portfolio and journal content, prepare draft case studies and blog articles, and publish through the existing administration interface after review. The implementation was added to the existing website rather than rebuilding the CMS. The AI integration uses an OAuth-based connection flow for compatible clients, with a deliberately limited content scope. Site administration, client enquiries, and direct live publishing remain outside the assistant's allowed actions. This is an internal product case study, not a client commission.
01 / THE CHALLENGE

Challenge

OXDOT needed a way to keep its agency portfolio and journal updated without repeatedly entering the website admin panel for every piece of content. The existing site already had functioning project and blog management, so rebuilding the CMS would add avoidable complexity and risk.
02 / OUR APPROACH

Solution

Added an AI management interface within the existing PHP/MySQL website, with endpoints to list and read portfolio projects and journal articles, create and edit unpublished drafts, and connect an approved AI client. Introduced an OAuth authorization flow for the MCP connection, while keeping final publishing in the normal admin workflow.
03 / THE OUTCOME

Result

The OXDOT admin dashboard displays the AI Manager, OAuth was enabled, and a connected ChatGPT client successfully read the project list from the website without changing data. Draft creation and editing are available through the connector. Public publishing still requires a human editor.
